Letters to Parks & Marlee (3/31/11 - 11:20am)

Hey babies,
I just got a call from the Apnea Center.  They said the 8 alarms Parks has had were "true events" so we will need to continue to monitor him.  I was thinking that Marlee would get off of her monitor today since she has not had any alarms since she came home, but the person on the phone said they usually like to see 8 to 12 weeks of zero events before taking babies off of the monitors.  That is heartbreaking.  I was so hopeful to get a little bit of normalcy by getting rid of these monitors, but it looks like they are going to be part of our lives for a long time.
I love you sweet babies.  I'm so sorry I couldn't keep you growing in my belly longer so you wouldn't have to deal with all of this junk.  You should still be in there right now, but instead you've been out here for almost 3 weeks now.  You shouldn't have to go through this.  You don't deserve it.  I'm so sorry.
All my love,
Mommy

  2. just keep reminding yourself that this was how it was meant to be. you did (and ARE DOING) everything just as you were supposed to. the extra monitoring will just ensure they can be extra-good soccer players!!!

  3. Kacy don't beat yourself up so much. Some things are out of our hands. In life God truly never gives us more than we can handle. You are an amazing mommy and you are doing a wonderful job! Try not to let those monitors stop you from having a sense of normalcy. Just enjoy this time because truly before you know it they will be 8 months old and that 8-12 wks with monitors will feel like a blur. Love you.
