5 MONTHS!!

Parks and Marlee are 5 months old today.  I can't believe it.  They have changed so much in these past months, and I love them more than I thought was possible.  We went to the doctor today for their checkup and got a good report.  Both are doing well and growing like sweet little babies should.

Here is what Marlee is up to at 5 months:
- Weighs 11 pounds, 0 ounces
- 23.5 inches long (8th percentile)
- Wearing size 1 diapers
- Wearing 3-6 month clothes
- Is so inquisitive…is constantly looking around and checking out everything in the room
- Loves to stand up
- Is not a fan of strangers
- Eats at 8, 11, 2, 5, 8 and 10:30
- Sleep from 8:30pm – 8am consistently
- Recently started taking a 2-hour nap in the mornings
- Has blue eyes
- Has more hair than her brother and is getting a few more each day
- Smiles all the time and has the cutest and softest laugh I’ve ever heard
- Rolls from tummy to back and is soooo close to going from back to tummy
- Sleeps in a sleeper sack with a paci
- Loves her paci (we only give it to her for sleeping and when we are out of the house doing something
 - Had first taste of formula (I tried straight formula at first and she wouldn’t take any, but now I mix one ounce of formula with 5 ounces of breastmilk into a bottle and she takes it fine)

I love that cheesy smile

Here is what Parks is up to at 5 months:
- Weighs 16 pounds, 2.8 ounces (50th percentile)
- 25.5 inches long (44th percentile)
- Wearing size 2 diapers
- Wearing 9 month clothes!!
- Recently discovered his feet and LOVES to hold onto them
- Smiles and laughs ALL THE TIME and is very talkative
- Is in love with his jumper/bouncy thing that hangs in the door frame…would jump all day if I let him
- Eats at 8, 11, 2, 5, 8 and 10:30
- Sleeps from 8:30pm – 8:00am consistently
- Recently started taking a 2-hour nap in the mornings
- Has Blue eyes
- Is starting to get a little bit more hair…I still think it will be blonde when it comes in
- Rolling from tummy to back with no problem…and just started rolling from back to tummy about 4 days before 5-months old
- Sleep in sleeper sack…but is a little too long for it so we have to go to something else ASAP
- Won’t take a paci for a second…spits it right out
- Had first taste of formula (I tried straight formula at first and he wouldn’t take any, but now I mix one ounce of formula with 6 ounces of breastmilk into a bottle and he takes it fine)

He was so into his hands and not so much into the picture-taking  :)

The PROOF

Please ignore my nonsense commentary.  I get a little loopy talking to babies all day.  ;)

Sssssnakes in my Sssssunroom

This is NOT poop...this a living, squirming snake in my sunroom.  As I was cleaning the room to prepare some play-space for my BABIES...I found this sucker underneath one of the chairs.  Not cool.  Mikey was working and not answering his phone...so Claire came over for moral support, and Tom Fox (my hero) and his work-partner Jeff came over and got it with a bucket and a grabber-tool-thing.

Summertime dreams of a winter getaway

It has been a family tradition of ours to go West each winter to ski/snowboard and play in the snow.  Last winter I stayed home to grow some babies...but I am getting the itch.  Here are some pics from 2 years ago...epic trip with all the fam!!!

We just keep rollin' rollin' rollin'

Another milestone!  Parks rolled from his back to his tummy this morning.  It was awesome...he looked so proud of himself.  It came with lots of grunting, Parks' trademark...and now that he did it, every time I lay him down he flips right over to his tummy.  The only problem is that he doesn't really like laying on his tummy, but he works so hard to flip over, that he is tired when he gets there and whines until I help him back to his back.

Here is Parks moments after his first back-to-tummy roll:

Marlee is a fiesty one, and is pretty competitive like her mommy and daddy.  Previous to Parks' roll, she didn't show much interest in rolling from back to tummy.  However, immediately following his roll, she started trying...HARD!  She is soooooo close....she just needs to lift that head when she gets to this point:
