SLACKERS!!

A few posts ago, I mentioned slack lining...a sport/hobby we recently discovered.  It is quite fun...and actually an incredible, full-body workout.

Cade got pretty good!!

Jessica was a natural...this was her first time trying!

Playing at the Park

Saturday was another B-E-A-UTIFUL day in Peachtree City.

Unfortunately, Parks and Marlee both have a bit of a cold, so we have spent most of our time in the house trying to keep them as comfortable as possible.  We did manage to sneak out for a few minutes to the park that is just down the cart path from us and had some fun.  They loved swinging...and they both fit perfectly into the little kid swing.  I always wondered why those things had (what appeared to be) 4 leg holes...but now I am glad they do.  It worked perfectly!

Sibling Swinging

:-)

He barely fit...good thing Marlee is little!

So sweet...Daddy was so careful not to drop Marlee

Yay!

Shayla and Kaly were ready to get back to the golf cart part of the trip! :)

Geez, I L.O.V.E these two!!!

Jessica, Ed and Cade!!

Last weekend our great friends "The Balls" came to visit.  Jessica, Ed and Cade brought their tents and camping equipment and bikes to come down and play.  They got here Friday afternoon and set up the tents in our back yard.  (I must admit, I was a bit jealous because their tents were awesome and it looked pretty cool setup out there...we will have to remember that and have a camp night when Parks and Marlee get a little bigger).

On Friday, Jessica and I took the babies on a walk while the boys went mountain biking.  Mikey and Ed discovered some really cool mountain biking trails that were literally behind our back yard that we never knew were there.  That night we had a fire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores.  Cade practiced "slack-lining" in our backyard with Mikey and Ed, and Saturday we woke up and had some relaxation time.  Jessica folded clothes and helped me clean the house  (bless her!) and the boys went on the golf cart to pick up breakfast.  The weather was B-E-A-utiful and we spent most the the weekend on our back deck.  Such a great time.  We are ready for them to come back now!!

My only disappointment is that I totally forgot to take pictures.  I am so bad about that.  Here is Jessica with Parks a week before...

7 months!

Our sweet babies are 7 months old today.  Unbelievable how fast it has gone.  They are so much fun these days, I just can't get enough of them.  We stay pretty busy and take them everywhere.  It takes more effort to go to the store or out to dinner, but I think they are getting some great experiences and really enjoy being out of the house and around people...which is good for me too.

At 7 months, here is what Parks is up to:
> Size 3 diapers
> Size 9-12 month clothes (and a few 18 month shirts)
> Sits up by himself unless he tries to look at something too far above him and then he falls backwards  :)
> Doing great on his 4 hour feeding schedule (8, 12, 4, 8...dream at 10)
> Takes naps at 10 and 2 for about 1.5-2 hours each and sometimes an evening cat nap
> Drinks about 5 or 5.5 ounces per feeding and eats 1 jar of baby food and rice cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner...likes the solids a lot these days (we think he wants to try a cheeseburger but haven't let him yet, ha!)
> Not crawling yet, but close I think...can scoot all the way across the room on his belly.  Also barrel rolls sometimes to get where he is going
> Puts everything in his mouth as soon as he touches it
> Still no teeth but it hurts now when he chews on my fingers, so I feel like they have to be coming soon
> Plays in his "Baby Einstein" every day and spins in circles trying to get some time with each toy
> Talks and talks and talks and talks...
> Laughs so hard at funny noises...big belly laughs that are the greatest sound ever
> Sooo happy in the mornings
> Had been sleeping 12 hours at night for 3 months without a single peep, and then got his 6 month shots and has woken up at least once every night since then.  Hoping to figure this out asap.
> Favorite toy is "sophie" the giraffe
> Really likes music and the toys that makes sounds
> Has huge blue eyes and a little bit more hair...but not much
> Pees through the diaper, the pajamas and the sheets every single night!

At 7 months, here is what Marlee is up to:

> Size 2 diapers
> Size 6-9 month clothes
> Is close to sitting up by herself but still needs a little help
> Doing great on her 4 hour feeding schedule (8, 12, 4, 8...dream at 10)
> Takes naps at 10 and 2 for about 1.5-2 hours each and usually an evening cat nap
> Drinks about 6 or 6.5 ounces per
> Not very interested in baby food yet...has finished a couple of jars, but usually likes spitting it out more than swallowing.  Typically will eat about 3-5 bites per feeding.
> Rolls around really well, but doesn't seem too close to crawling yet.  Who knows though...she may surprise us!
> Puts everything in her mouth just like her brother
> Has officially claimed her brother's favorite toy and now the jumper is hers.  She would jump all day if I let her
> Is starting to talk more
> Gets scared of strangers and makes the saddest cry face ever when she is scared
> Laughs so hard at funny noises...big belly laughs that are the greatest sound ever
> Sooo happy in the mornings
> Sleeps a solid 11.5 hours each night
> Favorite toy is "sophie" the giraffe
> Loves watching people make facial expressions...is totally fascinated by the game we play when we look away and then look back at her real fast with a big smile
> Has beautiful big blue eyes
> Has a patch of hair on the top center of her head that we spike up sometimes for a mohawk

I love these two more than words can say and am so thankful that I get to be their mommy and watch them grow and develop and discover this world.  A friend of mine put it perfectly....loving my babies is the easiest thing I've ever done and being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done...but it is exactly what I was meant to do and I love it.
